"HEAVY RESTORATION SAMPLE"
Wanda's photo fell into the heavy restoration category. Parts of her body and the side of her head had to be reconstructed due to being hidden by the person holding her. Wanda's photo was fully intact but was 43 years old and has endured a lot of damage. Age had caused severe fading,and eroding of image pixels. It had scratches, mold and other spots over it's entirety, and required extensive enhancements to clarify the image including, but not limited to pixel replacement, fade correction, color replacement, and smoothing techniques.
After extensive restoration, I used image placement techniques to place Wanda in my custom background. The original scan has been enlarged to show detail. The before photo was a small snapshot taken at a distance. The after image is an 8x10 printable quality.

Wanda's photo is one of those orders that make my work feel worth-while. It was such a blessing to know that I could help her sister, Dovie, fulfill the promise she had made to her mother to have a portrait made of her sister.
