Usually if a photo has scratches on the face it would fall into the heavy category, but since Earl's photo was in pretty good condition other than some bad scratches across the face, some fading and slight eroding of image pixels, and rather even yellow color cast. The large scratches across the face puts this photo into the moderate category, otherwise it would have been in the light category.
Restoration techniques included pixel replacement, scratch repair, a small amount of air brushing, and image and color enhancements.
