Mildred's photo had extensive erosion of image pixels with some places completely eroded away, many spots due to erosion, mold, water spots, and other blemishes, uneven color cast, and heavy and very uneven fading across the image with much loss of detail on important foreground elements.
It required extensive restoration with pixel replacement, fade correction, and smoothing techniques, airbrushing, extensive enhancements to clarify the image, and image placement techniques to achieve the finished 8x10 printable quality image on the right.
